How to stop pop-up error “bcmwltry.exe - Unable to Locate Component”

Recently removed some programs I was not using through Add/Remove Programs.
Upon restart I get a pop up error “bcmwltry.exe - Unable to Locate Component”
The system starts and seems to run fine, but the error will not go away.
Pressing OK just makes it pop up again in a new window.
Anyone know how to stop this?

It’s not uncommon to receive this error after some going through the add/remove menu and taking out old programs you might not use. By doing this, you’ve removed a piece of software that is needed by one of your network devices.

How do I disable Windows Vista User Account Control?

How do I disable the Windows Vista User Account Control function?  I just find it annoying that I have to approve every little action even though I am the administrator!  Other then that everything works great!

One Vista security feature that’s gotten a bit of a hit has been the User Account Control or UAC.  I find it’s a bit unnecessary; if you have a good anti-spyware and anti-virus, you should be more then fine.

How do I decide what is the best anti-virus for me?

I just got a new computer from the Holiday festivities and now that it’s all plugged in, I’m scared to go online without a good anti-virus; I’ve seen what it could do to a machine (explaining the new one for the holidays!)  What is the best type of anti-virus out there?  I haven’t heard the best about some of the most market available Norton and McAfee.  Any help?!

It’s pretty shocking how terrible these anti-virus giants (Norton especially) are on your mainframes.  While only offering sub-par protection at best, they hog immense amounts of system resources, in particular: RAM.  Most computers are not equip with large amounts of RAM, thus slowing down the performance of the average machine.  It makes tasks like checking email quite tedious exponentially increasing time.

I highly recommend a number of free options as well as one market standard choice.  These programs use very little RAM and do not bog down the processor…

How do I remove a Trojan.Virtumonde or Vundo

My computer currently has a Trojan.Virtumonde. How do I get rid of it??

First, I’d like to cover what exactly a Trojan Virtumonde is or can look like for some of our viewers who might not be so familiar with it.  A virtumonde by definition is adware that modifies the Windows Internet connection mechanism and display various pop-up advertisements.  It holds an elevated level of danger to your PC security (around a 4 out of 5 star rating!)

How do I get large files on external drive?

I have a bunch of movies and large files I’ve been using and I want to transfer them over to an external to save my computer hard drive space.  When I plugged in my external (via USB) it would take the smaller files, but it would say there was an error with the larger ones and it could not copy them over because of their size.  Does this mean I am stuck with the large files on my computer permanently?  What’s the point of having an external if it cannot take all files!

I myself fell to the same problem, and it was a pretty silly solution!

Where the Windows Recycle Bin is Located?

I’m trying to empty some files from the Windows Recycle Bin, but I can’t! Where can I find the recycle bin on my hard drive?

For many of us, the handy icon shortcut on our desktop is what we’ve come to rely on for our recycling needs, but others seek out the actual physical location on the C drive.

The folder resides at C:\Recycler but it is a hidden/protected operating system folder so there are settings that need to be changed before you are able to view it.
